Become a PADI Adventure Diver at Underwater Vision and you will be introduced to new types of scuba diving adventures and skills while practicing and perfecting the skills you already know! Taking the PADI Adventure Diver Course during your stay in Utila is a great opportunity to work with our various PADI professional instructors enabling you to see more, do more and scuba dive with more confidence and experience!
Get credit! Each Adventure Dive may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding [padispecialtydiverpage] Course. If you’ve already taken a specialty diver course, ask your instructor if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive.
PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old and want to take the next step should enroll in an Adventure Diver course. Young divers may only participate in certain Adventures Dives – check with your PADI Instructor.
In order to enroll in the PADI Adventure Diver Course you must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization).
You must be at least 15 years old (10 years old for PADI Junior Adventure Diver).
If you enjoyed your Adventure Dives and want to further your dive education and experience, you can earn the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification by completing five total Adventure Dives inclusive of the Deep and Navigation dives and meet the prerequisites for the next level of recreational diving – the PADI Rescue Diver Course.

You can sample three training dives of your choice, get a taste of what you like and feel more at ease in the water! You will strengthen your underwater skills and enjoy scuba diving and exploring Utila’s dive sites more than ever!
One of the best things about the PADI Adventure Diver Course is that YOU get to choose which types of dives you experience based on your own interest and needs! If you feel that you could use some extra practice with your buoyancy, you can try the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. If you are interested in learning more about the reef creatures you see in Utila, you can try the Project AWARE Fish ID Adventure Dive. How can you start learning now?
Get started now! Begin your Adventure diving course with online PADI eLearning. The web-based system lets you learn about seven of the most popular Adventure Dives at your own pace through an easy to use, interactive program. You also have access to an online version of the Adventures in Diving manual and can complete sections for other Adventure Dives as directed by your PADI Instructor.
You can also choose to read the Adventures in Diving manual and watch the Adventures in Diving video (a book and DVD package). Stop by Underwater Vision to enroll in the course, get your materials and start learning. Your PADI Instructor will meet with you to schedule knowledge review sessions along with your Adventure Dives.
What scuba gear will you use?
Throughout the PADI Adventure Diver course you will use all of the basic scuba diving gear you used during your beginner scuba certification course. Underwater Vision will provide all of the equipment you will need for your PADI Adventure Dive training including specialty devices. For example, certain Adventure Dives require different types of equipment so depending on which dives you choose you could possibly be introduced to: an underwater camera, a dive torch, a lift bag, dive reels or other specific scuba diving devices!

Next Step
After you have become a PADI Adventure Diver, inclusive of one PADI Navigation Adventure Dive, you have met the prerequisites for the PADI Rescue Diver course!
Once you have your PADI Adventure Diver certification you can continue your dive training in the areas you have enjoyed the most by completing two more adventure dives. Once you have completed five total adventure dives that include deep and navigation, you are a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver!
PADI Adventure Dives can also count towards PADI Specialties. For example, if you liked your Night Adventure Dive so much that you wanted to take a complete PADI Night Diver specialty course, your Night Adventure Dive can count as the first dive of that specialty.
