The PADI Search and Recover Diver Course at Underwater Vision can provide you with the skills you will need to bring things big or small back up to the surface!

You will master the skill of using a lift bag. This is a device used specifically for bringing large, heavy or awkward objects from the bottom to the surface of the sea. Students have a lot of fun learning this skill and it is a very useful one to have eventually if you or someone you are with drops something into the water and needs to bring it back up again.

What will you learn?

Gathering information and resources, then carefully planning a search are the first important steps you learn. During four scuba dives you’ll practice:

Search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems
How to locate large and small objects using search patterns
How to use a lift bag and other recovery methods
Limited visibility search techniques

You may be able to get college credit for the Search and Recovery course – while you are on vacation in Utila!

Also, the first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

PADI Underwater Navigator

Don’t follow the leader…BE the leader! Learn to orientate and navigate yourself around the divesites of Utila so that you will ALWAYS return to the boat (or entry point), and be the diver everyone else wants to follow! Many of the dive sites in Utila are ‘wall dives’ which means that divers generally use a timing device and follow the wall in one direction, then turn around and return to the boat when the dive is about half way through. This takes some practice to become proficient, but it is a fairly easy skill to master. However, once you have dived the walls you will want to explore more!

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

That’s what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification.
