Dive Site Description
Located about 20-25 minutes from Underwater Vision, Madeline’s/Jack Neil Beach is sheltered in the form of a cove on the South West side of Utila.

This dive site is a large sandy area surrounded by a reef wall on both sides. There are 5 buoys in the cove. The inner buoy is in less than 10ft (3m), and the outer buoys on the reef walls are at about 15ft (4.5m) of water. If you take your time and look carefully in the sandy areas you may be able to find Seahorses, Upside Down Jellyfish and Flounders. For the trained eye this is an ideal location to search for sand-loving sea slugs like the Headshield Sea Slug.
On the reef, look for Spotted Drums, Parrotfish and schools of Blue Tangs. Depending of which buoy you decide to go to Madeline’s/Jack Neil Beach can be an appropriate dive site for all PADI training course dive. The inner buoys provide an area with perfect shelter for confined water training and PADI Open Water dives. The outer buoys provide a location befitting a deep dive 98ft (30+m), and this dive site offers a sandy area sufficient for conducting PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy (PPB), and PADI Navigation dives.
